Peer Reviewer Guidelines

 

Please address each of the following areas to the best of your knowledge when reviewing the article.

(1)        CONTENT 

Does the author make a compelling argument that is supported by suitable evidence?

Is the article relevant to the field? 

Does the article engage with suitable literature and scholarship from within Metal Music Studies and other relevant fields?

Does the article feature a suitable methodology and reflect a careful and accurate use of materials?

  

(2)        CLARITY 

Is the article cohesive and clear?  

Is the article accessible? 

Do any paragraphs or comments seem out of place? 

Does the structure of the article (i.e., grammar, syntax, etc.) aid or hinder the reader? 

   

(3)        INTERDISCIPLINARITY 

Is the article accessible to a broad scholarly readership? 

Does the article avoid jargon and provide definitions for those terms with which readers from other disciplines might not be familiar?
